Germany – Established in 1993, Schumacher Garden & Landscape Care specializes in landscape gardening projects for businesses and residences in Germany’s North-Rhine Westphalia region. Along with its garden design and maintenance services, Schumacher takes on a full range of clearing and tree-care operations, including tree felling, grinding tree roots, mulching and shredding.

The family-run firm keeps a close focus on its twin goals of serving customers and serving the environment. With its recent acquisition of a SENNEBOGEN 718 M E tree care handler, Schumacher took a big step forward in achieving both of those ends.

The 718 allows Schumacher to offer efficient production and service to his customers, while fuel efficiency and low emissions, help him meet his environmental objectives.

The “green machine” is well equipped for a multitude of felling and clearing operations, and has the flexibility to complete projects without requiring additional equipment. Its powerful 160 HP engine drives a 43 ft. (13 m) telescoping stick fitted with a rotating cutting head. Weighing in at approximately 44,000 lbs., it’s a mobile tree care handler capable of felling trees, trimming limbs, as well as gathering, sorting and stacking brush and cut wood.

The Tier 4f power plant lives up to its “Green Efficiency” label. Installed as standard, the SENNEBOGEN system offers savings of up to 20% in EcoMode. Furthermore, it is remarkably quiet for work in urban settings.

Practical point-of-view

As with all SENNEBOGEN material handlers, the 718’s Maxcab can be hydraulically elevated to an 18 ft. (5.5 m) eye level. The cab can be independently tilted by 30° to give operators an ideal view of their work area at any height. The cab, fitted with a protective guarding on the windshield and roof, also keeps operators safe from falling branches.

Michael Schumacher, the Managing Director of the company, is equally pleased with the technical support behind the 718.“The power and control of the machine handles the most difficult tasks of our industry. At the same time, SENNEBOGEN and our dealer are extremely reliable service partners.”
